Recruitment for Fall 2021
We are still accepting applications for teaching positions on our programs from applicants who already reside in Japan. For the upcoming fall term, our online positions have now been filled, but we continue to accept applications, including from overseas applicants, who are willing to be on our back-up list. Please read the Application Information for the Fall 2021 Term for more details. Recruitment for the Spring 2022 term will begin in October. More details about recruitment for that term will be available on the website at that time.
To minimize the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19, the majority of Westgate staff are currently working remotely. As a result, if you try to contact us by phone, there may not be any members of staff available to take your call.
Please feel free to contact us via the online inquiry form or by email at email@example.com. Those who have already been put in touch with a recruiter, please contact them by email as usual.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting from ¥280,000 per month
*Note: Compensation is based on an hourly rate of pay. Exact monthly earnings fluctuate but over the course of a contract period average out to the figures listed above.
We value the importance of teacher professional development and give as much support as possible to highly motivated teachers.
Westgate will subsidize a round-trip, or two separate one-way trips, economy-class international flight ticket(s) up to US $1200 for those who are coming to Japan for the employment contract with us. The reimbursement is based on the actual cost of the airline ticket(s), including any applicable taxes, fuel surcharges, and check-in luggage of up to two pieces. Please note that we cannot reimburse any flights originating from Japan, one-way tickets to/from Japan, any itineraries that include a stop-over of over 24 hours, or other tickets which do not correspond to our flight reimbursement policy.
All Westgate instructors are required to enroll in a Japanese government-sponsored medical insurance program (National Health Insurance or Employee's Health Insurance). Both programs cover 70% of total medical expenses, including pre-existing medical conditions. However, they do not cover the following medical-related expenses: medical checkups, immunizations, normal childbirth delivery, abortions, in-hospital meals, any illnesses or injuries resulting from fighting or drunkenness, and cosmetic surgery. In addition, instructors older than 40 years of age are required to join Japan's Nursing Care Insurance. The municipality in which you reside will determine the monthly National Health Insurance premium, based upon the instructor's annual gross income from the prior year, and the number of dependents. The Employees' Health Insurance premium will be determined by an instructor's monthly earnings at Westgate. The monthly premium may be deducted from the instructor's compensation.
If you expect to be employed for more than 30 consecutive days, you are required to enroll in the Japanese Employment Insurance System (Employment Insurance). Westgate is responsible for deducting the mandatory Employment Insurance premiums from your monthly salary/wage payment.
Workers' Compensation Insurance
If you are injured as a result of an accident at work or in conjunction with work-related business, you will be covered by Westgate's Worker's Compensation Insurance Policy. Worker's Compensation premiums are paid by Westgate. Instructors are required to report incidents and all related details to their supervisors immediately.
