Duties

Every day on campus, the Westgate Instructor is a representative of the corporation, and is expected to consistently promote a fun, safe, and friendly environment for all students.

Curriculum

The Westgate Young Learners curriculum has been designed so that, stage by stage, students gradually gain skills in understanding and producing English. First, students are exposed to the target language through fun games, activities, songs, and books, in the hope of lowering their resistance to learning English, a language which is completely different from Japanese. As students become more comfortable, they are provided with opportunities to perform tasks in English in areas such as math, literature, social studies, or science. Through our Young Learners Program, students eventually begin to think in English, produce more language, and express opinions in the target language.

The program provided to secondary school students develops critical thinking skills in addition to English language skills. We believe this integration better prepares them for future careers and further studies in other fields.
